Blair and I are leaving for the Trans Utah (TU) Mountain-Bicycle Ride/Race on Friday. Originally I wanted to do the 500 mile Colorado Trail Race, but the inaugural 2008 TU grabbed my interest. Then when no one finished the inaugural TU (due to an early winter storm), I decided that TU 2009 was for me. No one has yet completed this route!
The race/ride is scheduled to start at 4am on Saturday, Sept. 26th. The early start time will help to avoid 90+ degree temperatures during the first 60 miles of the route… Blair and I may start late afternoon on Friday and ride into the midnight hour…
My tracker is here.

I will update my location on this map when I can via cell phone. You can click my ballons to read any text I posted with my location. If for some reason my map is not working, then go to the official tracking map and look for Blair’s location – we should be riding together.
The official race tracking map is here, and it shows the riders with a spot tracking device along with my cell phone feed.

Good luck to you both and happy riding.
We will be cheering you on from your twitter/map updates….enjoy the ride!

Hey, way ta get’er done!!
Terrific ride Troy! Holy smokes, way to hammer out that last day. I wasn’t sure how that would go but you made it look easy.
Congrats on being the very first Trans Utah finisher.
Way to go! Can’t wait to hear the stories!
Troy,
I can’t get results but looks like you did great. Once you recover I’d love to hear about the adventure. Way to represent Flagstaff.
